National Lotteries Charities Board awards grants for capital works for village halls. The community development grant funds projects that help people to become involved in activities that improve the communities quality of life. Although you do not need to be registered to apply, you do need a constitution showing that your group is established for charitable, philanthropic or benevolent purposes.

Wren are the distributors of the landfill tax credit scheme.  Your community has to be 10 miles from a landfill under the scheme (Grunty Fen) and your project have access to the whole of the local community. Type of projects they have funded in village halls include –extensions, roofing, toilets, disabled access, interior decoration and refurbishment. They will fund up to 90% of the project.
