EssexRugby provides the opportunity for the players of the County to develop their skills and play representative Rugby at all levels. It should be the aim and ambition of our players to eventually represent their County in our Senior XV giving them the opportunity to play in the County Championships at Twickenham.
Our player pathways through Schools, Clubs, County Development Squads, Saracens Academy and Regional representative squads could lead any player who has that special gift or talent to play Rugby at the highest level the opportunity to also represent their Country
The youth of our County are the lifeblood of the future of The Game. In Essex we have many clubs who run youth sections from mini rugby to the U20s who often play in the Senior game. Are your players registered - It is a requirement by the RFU that all league players and youth players MUST be registered. At youth level there are two ages at which all players must be registers and that is:
Age group 1 - Under 7's to under 12's
Age group 2 - Under 13s - Under 18's (All players in age group 1 must re-register at this age group as they are moving from mini-midi to youth rugby)
Any problems or queries regarding youth registration please contact the Essex Registrar Harry Hicks - 01268 683923 (According to the RFU Harry is one of the most efficient youth registrars in the Counties.)
PLEASE NOTE: - If a player is not registered then he/she is not allowed to play for your club in any Essex County RFU Festival or competition.
